The Weekly Decluttering Challenge is Back!

I assumed that I could just say "oh, I'll start decluttering the house in January" and it would just magically happen. I've made *some* progress, but I really think I need to focus on ONE ROOM AT A TIME to not feel overwhelmed. I look back at those after pictures from last year (and heck, some of the before's too!) and wish that the house looked so clear and tidy now. We have so much stuff, I'm just not sure where to put it all!

So many things would fit nicely in a garage, but we don't have one. I do have some closets upstairs though that need filling (non tool items!).

I've decided to start with the living room, move on to the dining room/kitchen, the bathroom, the backroom, our bedroom and the walk in closet, the spare room, the kid's room (no, I don't have kids but think of it as a kids room, lol) then finally the stairs/hallway. Eight spaces, eight weeks. That will keep me busy for the rest of winter. Oh! My nephew will be born by the time I'm finished!

Now, when I mentioned working on one room at a time, that means I hope to clean it top to bottom, clear out extra clutter, hang art and do some touch up painting and trim work. I would like to look at the space and say DONE. Except for the floors throughout, the kitchen counter and back splash, I hope to finish it all. Yes, I'm dreaming big. Wish me luck!

  2. Don't do what I do and declutter one room and put the stuff in another room! Cos ya can go round in circles for years! lol
